OUTTA' NOWHERE: A recent survey released by the Center for Education Reform finds charter schools are on the rise and they are choosing blended learning along the way. The survey of 6,004 charter schools shows steady growth and demand. The number of charter schools is now 6,005, up 1,381 from the last report published in 2010, and the average wait list size is now 277 students--up from 233. Six percent of charter schools are also now identifying and marketing themselves as a "blended learning" school. In the last report, that term didn't even make the list.
