Over the past few weeks we’ve been ramping up our Pinterest game here at EdSurge, getting to know the ins and outs of the tool that so many teachers have come to know and love. We have been hard at work exploring how teachers, administrators, librarians, techies and makers alike use Pinterest as a way to save, showcase and share inspiring ideas that support their work with students.
What we have been enjoying the most about Pinterest so far is gaining insights from the pin wizards we’ve been following, and getting inspired by boards of all kinds. Maker boards, STEM boards, classroom organization boards, classroom library boards and teacher humor boards have been some of our favorites to peruse through.
Part of what makes Pinterest so special is that while novice pinners can learn simply by exploring what others are working on, veteran pinners succeed by sharing ideas with others in a visual way that can really bring about change in the classroom.
We are so excited to hop aboard the sharing train and begin using Pinterest as a tool to share stories and resources that can help practitioners meaningfully bring about change in their classrooms.

Some of the boards we’re most excited about include our Food for Thought board which shares quotes and inspiration, our 50 States Project board, which showcases voices of practitioners from across the country, and our Personalized Learning board, which features a series of articles and resources about what personalized learning means and how it is being implemented in various settings.
Our plan and our hope is to continue creating boards that inspire others through sharing edtech resources and showcasing the work that districts, schools and educators we respect are doing in classrooms near and far.
