MO’ MONEY FOR CHARTERS: This week, the U.S. Department of Education announced an award of more than $157 million to states for distribution to charter schools, through its Charter Schools Program (CSP). While about $32M will go to “High-Quality Charter Schools Grantees,” such as Achievement First in NY, the larger $125M is divided amongst eight state departments of education--not including California, who received a five-year, $250 million grant back in 2010.
