Digital Promise, a non-profit using technology and research to spur innovation and expand learning opportunities, has created Digital Promise Professional Services to provide personal help to educators as they transform their schools and districts.
DP’s team walks education professionals through the creation of personalized, collaborative and mobile learning opportunities for students. It offers six tracks and programs to match users or allow them to create a magnet-like atmosphere. The tracks are:
Challenge Based Learning
Challenge based learning is a framework designed to improve learning and organizational behavior around real-life learning experiences. It encourage learners to leverage the technology they use in their daily lives. The goal is for students to learn skills and critical thinking and become lifelong learners.
The Digital Promise Journey
This is a tool that guides digital transformation—a change management blueprint that is customized to each user’s needs. The long-term plan also involves hands-on coaching.
Leadership Coaching
The coaches are a nationally-recognized network of forward-leaning K-12 leaders, members of the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools. They are superintendents, chief technology officers and curriculum leaders with hands-on experience implementing digital learning in their districts and can help educators build leadership capacity.
Educator Micro-credentials
Digital Promise Professional Services supports schools’ efforts to implement the use of micro-credentials. A professional development strategy that is gaining popularity, micro-credentialing can help educators hone their skills as well as identify and learn new ones. DP also works with organizations to support the development of new micro-credentials.
Storytelling
Digital Promise helps school leaders use the power of stories, through digital documentation, to spotlight successes and inspire action. They offer educators training in filmmaking and multimedia production.
Maker Learning
The maker movement, a technological, creative and design-focused learning revolution, is revitalizing classrooms with hands-on STEM education. Educators can use the lessons of maker learning to enhance student-centered teaching practices. Digital Promise Professional Services can show school leaders how to kickstart or advance maker learning in their school or district with workshops and immersive trainings.
