This is one of the principles championed by Future Ready Schools (FRS), a project of the policy and advocacy organization, Alliance for Excellent Education. FRS helps district leaders plan and implement personalized, research-based digital learning strategies to help all students achieve their full potential. It provides schools and districts with resources to support teachers and leaders, empower students to take charge of their learning, and provides tools for a more personalized approach to successful outcomes.
How it works: FRS asks for a commitment from district superintendents. Then, district leaders are linked to the FRS dashboard, a five-step interactive and collaborative planning tool with a hub where they can access self-assessments and receive customized reports to guide their development and implementation of action plans.

Through the dashboard, districts create a digital-learning implementation plan with research-based strategies. For extra help, FRS has created tutorial videos.
The Hub provides “one-stop shopping” needs—digital-learning planning materials, tools, and activities for school leaders. It includes a variety of program boosters such as “A Guidebook for Success: Strategies for Implementing Personalized Learning in Rural Schools,” five-step planning for the ESSA, and micro-credentialing for district leaders and leadership teams.
