Microverse, an San Francisco-based coding bootcamp focused on developing countries, has raised a $3.2 million seed round. General Catalyst and Y Combinator participated.
Founded in 2017, Microverse has students in 96 countries, according to TechCrunch. Mexico, Brazil and Kenya are among the company’s largest geographies. The company offers an income-share agreement where graduates pay 15 percent of their salary once they earn more than $1,000 a month. Repayment is capped at $15,000.
Other companies in the bootcamp space to attract investor attention recently include bootcamp-turned-college Make School, bootcamp review website Career Karma and ISA marketplace Edly.
