A. Michael Berman is an educator and technologist, currently serving as Chief Innovation Officer and Deputy CIO for the California State University Office of the Chancellor. Previously he served as the Vice President for Technology & Communication at California State University Channel Islands (CI). CI, the newest Cal State campus, is located in Ventura County and serves a largely first-generation college going population. His division is responsible for information technology and support for teaching and learning innovation, as well as communication and marketing. He earned a Ph.D. in computer science at Rutgers University and has been a college professor, a software developer, and a textbook author.
