Brief Biography
Amanda Newlin leads a team of learning designers, visual designers, and software developers, who spend their days (and nights!) developing next-generation courseware. Before joining Smart Sparrow, Amanda was the Director of Project Management for Pearson’s Common Core System of Courses (PSoC), a mobile-designed, digital product delivered to market in July 2014. As the second member of the PSoC development team, Amanda was involved in every aspect, from course mapping and content development to tool building, design, and production. With such complete knowledge of the SME's goals and the product's vision, Amanda quickly became looked upon as the "content advocate" and eventually successfully led the Content Production & Assembly team on an aggressive, nine-month timeline to complete 3,646 lessons. Before joining Pearson in 2011, Amanda used her deep background in education and leadership theory to help open and manage the Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts, a project-based, constructivist school in Los Angeles. Amanda earned two B.A. degrees from Northern Illinois University in 2005.
