Brian Jacobs is the founder and CEO of panOpen, an edtech startup that offers the tools, services, and financial model for institutional adoption of Open Educational Resources. Previously, Brian founded and ran Akademos, a venture-backed provider of online bookstores and marketplaces to colleges; he remains on the company's board. Brian began his career in academia, with a Ph.D. in political philosophy and social theory from Cornell University, where he also taught.
