David Casali is currently the head of early childhood music at the Community Music School of Springfield as well as teaching preschool music in the Springfield Public Schools (SPS). He has been involved in a variety of curriculum development projects for SPS including writing the pre-K and grade one curriculum for the district, helping the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education launch their new arts standards and infusing coding into the elementary school curriculum as part of an initiative between SPS and Computer Science for All. David earned his bachelor's degree in double bass performance from Indiana University and a master's degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he is currently pursuing his doctoral degree in music education. He also regularly performs on the double bass as a substitute with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.
