David Havens is a Senior Analyst for the Seed Fund at NewSchools Venture Fund where he focuses on market research and supporting education technology startups.
Prior to NewSchools, David co-founded The Flying Treehouse, a volunteer group that teaches creative writing to elementary students and turns their stories into a full-length performance. He continues to focus on the way improv and design thinking can help education and frequently leads workshops for organizations seeking to learn more.
David earned a BA in Human Biology with a focus on Neuroscience from Stanford University where he was a Tour Guide and teaching assistant in Drama and Biology. He also studied computer science, design, and education, with some graduate work in Management Science and Engineering.
