Helen Thomas is a Hunkpapa Lakota educator who works as the Office of Indian Education's professional learning specialist for the Arizona Department of Education. She is a former Title VI Native American Student Achievement Teacher for an urban public school district in Arizona. She has a Bachelor of Arts in economics, education, and public policy from Dartmouth College and a Masters of Education in elementary education from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. Thomas is a 2021-2022 EdSurge Voices of Change fellow.
