James Parra (he/him) is a paraprofessional at Brooklyn Arbor Elementary School in Brooklyn, New York with eight years of experience. He is an advocate for anti-bias and anti-racist pedagogy and liberating education that benefits not only students but educators as well. Working on his school's equity team where he collaborates with the administration and his colleagues to ensure that all student voices, experiences, and identities are reflected across school celebrations and curriculum. James is currently finishing up his undergrad in Political Science, Africana and Puerto Rican Studies and English at Hunter College and will then go on to pursue his Master's degree in Childhood Education at the same institution.
