Jonathan Lancaster is a social studies teacher at a high school in New Jersey, where he teaches history, leads the Social Science Research Program and coordinates the International Baccalaureate Extended Essay Program. Lancaster earned his Master of Arts in educational administration at Ramapo College of New Jersey and is pursuing his Ph.D. in teacher education and teacher development at Montclair University.
Lancaster was named a National Education Association Global Learning Fellow and a New York Times Teaching Project Fellow, and was awarded a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching. Lancaster’s main professional interests are the role of student engagement in student outcomes, student discussions, representations of war in history classrooms and teacher development.
