Julie Hasfjord

Julie Hasfjord is the STEM Instructional Leader at Bailey STEM Magnet Middle Prep in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the Elementary School Teacher of the Year for Nashville in 2013 and this honor motivated her to move from teaching at an elementary school in the suburbs to a middle school in the inner city. During her first year at Bailey, she led her scholars to win a national STEM competition, a state robotics tournament, and obtain several medals in a city Project-Based-Learning Fair. She believes that providing urban schools with STEM programs provides students a pathway out of poverty.
