Krista Marks is co-founder and CEO of Woot Math, a Boulder edtech startup that helping teachers bring mathematics to life through research-backed tools for adaptive learning and formative assessment. Previously, Krista was a Vice President at Disney for User Generated Content. She came to Disney through its 2008 acquisition of Kerpoof where she was co-founder and CEO. The tools created at Disney and Kerpoof allowed millions of children to create, save and share artwork in safe online environments.
Krista was honored with the Kids at Play Interactive (KAPi) award for “Emerging Pioneer” at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show. Krista previously worked for many years as an electrical engineer. In 1999, she won Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory’s highest achievement award for her contributions to high energy physics instrumentation. Krista proudly serves as a Techstars mentor and on several boards including the National Center for Women & Information Technology and the Silicon Flatirons Center for Entrepreneurial Development, University of Colorado, Boulder. She holds multiple U.S. patents and a Bachelor of Science in EECS from U. of South Carolina.
