Lillian E. Agosto-Maldonado is an independent journalist in Puerto Rico and the United States, digital strategist and university professor.She has a bachelor's degree in Information and Journalism from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus, and a master's degree in Puerto Rican and Caribbean Studies at the Center for Advanced Studies in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean in Old San Juan. Her thesis theme was Social integration to digital journalism in Puerto Rico: the case of Primera Hora, 2000-2010.
She was a multimedia and technology reporter in Primera Hora and ÍNDICE of GFR Media in Puerto Rico. She has participated in journalism organizations such as the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, as a student and mentor; and the International Center for Journalists.
Since 2013, she has been teaching at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan, offering specialized courses in digital journalism, radio and TV media writing, entrepreneurship and publishing. Likewise, in 2016 she worked as a guest professor at the Universtity of Puerto Rico, Humacao campus, to teach the course of Introduction to the Study of Communication. Recently, she presented as a speaker in the Puerto Rico National Communication Congress with the topic The social integration in the Puerto Rican Journalism.
She also works as an inpendent journalist, editor, adviser and strategist of virtual communities such as Cambio en Clave, a salsa dancing project on the island; Lote 23, a gastronomic park in Santurce (San Juan, Puerto Rico); and Buena Vibra, a advertising agency’s multimedia platform.
