Lucara has more than 15 years of experience in K-12 education. She most recently served as the instructional technology specialist at a middle school in Houston, Texas. In this role, Lucara developed a partnership with students, teachers, and parents as she transitioned the campus to one of the first 1:1 middle schools in her district. During her tenure, she managed all IT and instructional technology programs, including device deployment and management, technical support, and professional development. Before her work as an instructional technology specialist, Lucara was a middle school social studies teacher and a district content specialist, instructional coach, and curriculum writer. Lucara received her Bachelor of Arts in political science and sociology from Houston Baptist University and her Master’s degree in learning technologies from the University of North Texas.
