Maia Connors, Ph.D., conducts research focused on early childhood care and education systems and works to translate findings into policy and practice.
At Start Early, she leads the research and evaluation team’s policy research partnerships. Her recent work has explored sources of variation in the impacts of Head Start; identified promising policy levers for improving preschool quality at scale; and informed the decisions of city and state departments of education regarding early childhood quality, access, expansion, and improvement.
Maia holds an A.B. in Sociology and Education Studies from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from New York University. She lives in Chicago and is mom to a very energetic toddler.
