Marina Umaschi Bers is professor and chair at the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Study and Human Development and an adjunct professor in the computer science department at Tufts University. She heads the interdisciplinary DevTech Research Group and directs the Early Childhood Technology graduate certificate at Tufts University. Her research involves the design and study of innovative learning technologies to promote children’s positive development. She is the developer of the KIBO robotics kit, co-developer of the ScratchJr programming application and the author of 2018’s “Coding as a Playground: Programming and Computational Thinking in the Early Childhood Classroom.”
