Michelle Diaz has more than 10 years’ experience in the K-20 education market. She started her education career with EDUCAUSE managing marketing for the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI). Also, during her time there she helped develop and implement the Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) initiative, a program sponsored by the Gates Foundation that provided over $45M in grant funding to schools actively engaged in personalized and blended learning strategies.
From there, Michelle joined HP Inc. in their global education products line division to grow and support their newest software, HP School Pack and other education apps and hardware. She worked with schools and educational start-ups from around the world, seeking solutions that would help close the gap and provide better equity and access for all learners.
Her son, who was born with a rare brain condition, is what ultimately led her to bulb Digital Portfolios. She saw how this product could benefit his personal learning journey just as much as it did for learners of all ages and abilities. At bulb, Michelle directs their marketing and partnership engagement activities.
Michelle has also done consulting for iLearn Collaborative, a non-profit whose mission is to advance the practice of student-centered learning. Secretly Michelle wishes she was teaching in a classroom alongside her many educator friends and mentors.
