Brief Biography
Mike has more than 25 years in the field of education, the last 12 focused on the intersection between learning and technology with VitalSource. Mike has many years of experience working directly with institutions and publishers as they adopt new technologies and develop strategies to apply technologies in ways that best serve learners. As a professor, high school teacher, co-founder and director of a charter school, school systems consultant, and in his current role leading the sales organization at VitalSource, Mike has always been interested in creating the best environments for specific types of learning. He is a National Paideia Faculty member and the author of “The Teacher's Guide to Leading Student-Centered Discussions,” as well as several articles and books chapters on educational transformation. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Auburn University and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Carolina.
