Nitzan Pelman founded ReUp Education, which partners with universities to re-enroll students who have dropped out of college. In the fall of 2016, ReUp will engage over 25,000 students in coming back to college and finishing their degrees.
In 2007, Nitzan founded the New York region of Citizen Schools and served as its first Executive Director for six years. Nitzan was recently highlighted as a leader with The Limited’s “What Leading Looks Like” campaign. She has also advised and supported various education technology companies and nonprofit organizations, including Akilah Institute for Women, Leadership for Educational Equity, Beespace, LightSail, Turnaround for Children, Nextdoor.com, Hot Chalk, and BellWether Education Partners.
Prior to her work at Citizen Schools, Nitzan was an Assistant Director at the Department of Education in New York City. She also served as the first Development Director of Teach for America New York. Nitzan holds a Masters in Public Administration from New York University and a BA from Stern College for Women.
