NyRee Clayton-Taylor is a resource teacher at Phillis Wheatley Elementary School in Louisville, Ky., where she helps teachers improve their instruction using culturally responsive pedagogy. Clayton-Taylor and her husband Antonio Taylor are also the founders of HHn2 L: Hip-Hop n2 Learning, an educational nonprofit that supports students, parents and educators using hip-hop based educational strategies to teach and empower learners. In May of 2018, Clayton-Taylor was named the 2019 Kentucky Elementary Teacher of the Year. Her work is featured in the upcoming book, “HipHopEd: The Compilation on Hip-Hop Education Vol.2," in which she co-authored the chapter, "Rapping, Recording & Performing: Amplifying Student Voice to Reclaim a Community."
