Paul is a recent graduate from the University of Pennsylvania where he completed a master’s degree in learning sciences and technology. Before returning to the US for graduate school, he worked in China as an educational consultant, instructional designer, and corporate trainer. He started the Leadership Workshop, an independent educational program focused on helping high school and university students develop soft skills in preparation for studying overseas through small-scale workshops emphasizing active-learning. While at Penn, his research focus was on e-learning. He wrote his master’s paper on the topic of student motivation in MOOCs and strategies for improving participant engagement in online learning environments. He also studied the role educational technology can play in helping to democratize education in the developing world.
