Educated in Australia, Richard worked as a jackaroo in the outback beforestudying marketing (and dropping out). He worked in finance (which he hated)before falling into education by accident. He set up and ran a successfuleducational MARCOMS, was a director of several Australian start-ups(tech and non-tech) then lived in San Francisco with his wife during thedotcom boom. He then moved to London where he worked for the educationdepartment, then set up a business intelligence publication and an onlineeducation games business. In the last couple of years he has done manyconsultancy projects, been a business mentor, public speaker, judged start-up competitions and been an angel investor. Richard spent four years onthe Independent Monitoring Board of London’s largest prison and when notworking can often be found in a pigeon hide in Norfolk.
