Rick Stout is the superintendent of Onslow County Schools in North Carolina. Mr. Rick Stout has served as a superintendent of schools for the past 7 years and is presently superintendent for the Onslow County Schools System. This is his 28 year in education with 17 years served as an administrator. Mr. Stout earned both his M.Ed. and E.D. at East Carolina University.
He serves as a leader for local, regional, state, and national level boards and organizations that focus on educational leadership and student opportunities. He currently participates in The League of Innovative Schools, Global Schools Network, North Carolina Association for Supervision and Curriculum Board, Military Affairs Committee, Economic Development Board, Chamber of Commerce Board, United Way Board, Eastern North Carolina Workforce Development Board, Boy Scouts of America Council, and North Carolina Public School Forum Board. He also has served as President of the North Carolina Association of School Administrators, and a member of the State Superintendent Advisory Committee.
Mr. Stout is an advocate for 21st century learning, presenting locally and nationally regarding technology innovation and Early College partnerships. He has been the recipient of the prestigious NC Lighthouse Award and the Golden Apple Award for Technology.
