Suzanne is a STEM Science Leader at South Miami Middle Community School. She has 25 years of teaching experience in Miami Dade County Public Schools, and has been a adjunct professor for 13 years at Miami Dade College, teaching courses on education, assessment analysis and science content. She has had a number of honors, specifically as a Hurd National Middle Level Science Teacher Award Finalist 2016, Microsoft Innovative Educator/Trainer 2015, PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovator 2015, Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators Honorable Mention/Finalist 2014, Microsoft U.S. Innovative Education Finalist 2011, and a Teacher Hall of Fame Finalist.
