The NMC Horizon Report Project has been exploring emerging technology trends and implementation in education since 2002. Now, the New Media Consortium and CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking), with support from the nonprofit MindSpark Learning, have released the Horizon Report: 2017 K–12 Edition, which charts the five-year impact of innovative practices and technology for K–12 education around the world.
The report shares the results of the collaboration of more than 60 researchers and experts who selected and explored six developments in educational technology, six key trends and six significant challenges. Download the report and the summary slide deck here. In addition to the slide deck, a toolkit aims to spur discussion of the trends and help educators plan engagement programs for other stakeholders around what needs to happen to prepare students for success in a digital world.
