CoSN is inviting school leaders into its Matrix. The Digital Leap Success Matrix helps schools and districts measure where they are in their digital transition. This resource supports districts that are early in their decision-making stages as well as those in the throes of implementing changes. The Matrix outlines practices needed to succeed, focusing on three key professional categories: leadership and vision; educational environment; and managing technology and business.
Like all CoSN resources, the Matrix is based on its Framework of Essential Skills of the K-12 CTO, which identifies the knowledge and skills a technology leader should have to build and run digital learning environments successfully. While CoSN (the Consortium for School Networking) is very much about professional development, the Matrix focuses on the institutions. The leadership could change without dislodging the district’s or school’s direction or goals. It provides guidance on topics such as ethics, strategic planning, team building, management and professional development. The Matrix is available for download here.
